Dr. Shai Tubali & Tamar Brosh · A 9-Month Professional Training
The School of
Consciousness
You have been conscious your entire life. But you have never been taught what that means, or why it is your greatest asset.
In October 2026, a 9-month training begins that brings together neuroscience, philosophy, contemplative practice, and the world’s great mystical traditions to explore one question:
what is consciousness, and what becomes possible when you learn to develop it?

The Moment we are in
Why Consciousness, Why Now
Everyone is talking about consciousness. The reason is artificial intelligence.
The moment machines began performing tasks we believed required a mind, an old question resurfaced with new urgency: what is consciousness, actually? And the answer emerging from neuroscience is striking.
Consciousness and intelligence are not the same thing. They operate through different systems in the brain. Intelligence adapts, solves, produces. It can be measured, replicated, and now automated. Consciousness is the felt experience of being alive. It is what it is like to see, to grieve, to understand, to sit in complete stillness and know that you exist.
A machine can outperform you at almost any task. But it will never know what it is like to be alive.
The implications are hard to overstate. A technology that outperforms us at everything we do is not a future scenario. It is arriving now. And it raises a question most of us are not prepared for: if doing is no longer what makes us valuable, then what does?
The answer is in consciousness. In the one dimension of human existence that cannot be automated, optimized, or replaced. In capacities so fundamental to who we are that we have overlooked them entirely. Until now.
The School of Consciousness is a 9-month training designed to help you understand it, experience it, and develop it.
What you will develop:
Direct experiential contact with consciousness itself
You have never been taught to tell your awareness apart from what fills it. This school makes that distinction experiential, through classical meditation, subtle body work, and guided exploration of awareness itself.
The ability to distinguish consciousness from intelligence
Neuroscience has confirmed they are entirely different systems. Intelligence performs. Consciousness experiences. Recognizing this distinction in yourself changes how you think, how you listen, and how you make decisions.
An understanding of consciousness that no single discipline can provide
Where neuroscience, philosophy, and the world’s great contemplative traditions converge, there is a picture of consciousness that none of them can offer alone. This school brings all three into one conversation.
Access to capacities that only a conscious being can have
As awareness deepens, capacities emerge that no machine can replicate: holding complexity without fragmenting, perceiving what is not being said, responding from a depth that precedes thought. These capacities cannot be taught as skills. They emerge directly from a consciousness that has been trained.

Stories of Consciousness
Across traditions, disciplines, and centuries — scientists, mystics, and seekers have touched the same boundless territory and tried to describe it.
Neuroscientist · Psychedelic Experience
“I ceased to exist in any recognizable way, shape, or form. No more ego, no more self — nothing personal remained. And yet something experienced. The remnant of my shattered mind perceived the sublime: the burning furnace of being.”
Christof Koch
Neuroscientist · Allen Institute for Brain Science
Computer Scientist · Spontaneous Awakening
“A rush of energy burst from my chest — an alive, overwhelming love whose source was unmistakably me. Then that light exploded, filled the room, and expanded to embrace the entire universe. I recognized, with immense surprise, that I was that light.”
Inventor of the Microprocessor · Physicist
Contemplative · Dissolution of Self
Bernadette Roberts
Christian Contemplative · Author
Philosopher · Mystical Awakening
“The man mending the road was myself. The stone he was breaking was part of me. The birds, the dust, the passing car — everything was in me, and I was in everything. Within myself was the calmness of the bottom of a deep, unfathomable lake.”
Jiddu Krishnamurti
Philosopher · Teacher
Mystic · Christian Contemplative Tradition
“The soul is carried away — and I could do nothing to resist it. I felt myself lifted, not by my own will, but by something immeasurably greater. In that moment the soul sees that it has become one flame with the divine fire.”
Mystic · Doctor of the Church · 16th Century
Neurosurgeon · Near-Death Experience
“As a neurosurgeon, I had spent my career telling patients that near-death experiences were fantasies of a dying brain. Then my brain shut down completely — and I found myself more conscious, more alive, more real than I had ever been.”
Neurosurgeon · Harvard Medical School

How the great mystical traditions have mapped and cultivated consciousness, and what becomes visible when Christ consciousness, Buddha consciousness, and Atman consciousness are placed side by side.
04
The subtle layers of experience and their relationship to the nervous system and the body.
