General Terms and Conditions – Retreat

1. Organizer & Scope
The contracting party is Expansion Worldwide LLC (“Organizer”). These Terms apply to on-site participation in Portugal (“Retreat”) and to online participation via live stream/replay (“Online Program”).

2. Booking, Contract Formation, Age Requirement
Bookings are made online. The contract is concluded upon booking confirmation/invoice. Participation is limited to persons 18 years and older.

3. Prices & Payment
Prices are in EUR.
Deposit: €190 (non-refundable) is due upon booking to reserve an on-site spot.
Balance: Due 30 days before the start; if payment is late, the spot may be released.

4. Right of Withdrawal (EU) & Online Services
On-site (fixed dates): No statutory right of withdrawal applies to leisure/accommodation services provided on a specific date.
Online Program: If the Online Program begins within 14 days of purchase, you will be asked at checkout to expressly consent to immediate performance and to acknowledge the loss of the right of withdrawal upon the start of the stream. If no performance begins within 14 days, you may withdraw within that period. After the stream has started or replay access is granted, refunds are excluded.

5. Participant Cancellation: Refunds (On-site)
Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email is sufficient).
≥ 60 days before start: refund of the balance; deposit is forfeited.
30–59 days: 50% of the total price is refunded.
< 30 days / no-show: no refund.
Tickets are transferable up to 5 days before the start (no fee).

6. Rebooking/Transfer (Online)
Online access is personal and non-transferable. As a gesture of goodwill, a one-time reassignment may be offered before the program starts.

7. Scope of Services
Services are as advertised (accommodation/board package, session schedule, online access/replays). Reasonable changes for objective reasons (e.g., timetable adjustments, change of facilitator, room planning) remain reserved.

8. Organizer Cancellation/Program Changes (incl. Force Majeure)
We may cancel or postpone for good cause (e.g., insufficient minimum attendance, official orders, force majeure). In case of full cancellation, we refund all amounts paid, including the deposit, or offer rebooking/credit. Further claims (e.g., travel or accommodation costs) are excluded to the extent permitted by law.

9. Health, Personal Responsibility & Insurance
Participation is at your own responsibility; the retreat is not a substitute for medical or psychotherapeutic treatment. We recommend travel cancellation insurance and international health insurance.

10. Online Use, Technical Rules & IP
Access credentials are personal; recording, copying, sharing or public playback is prohibited. Content/materials remain the intellectual property of the Organizer; usage rights are limited to personal, non-commercial use.

11. Photo/Audio/Video On-site
Any photo/video recordings for documentation/marketing are made only with prior consent; you may withdraw consent at any time with future effect. Participation is not contingent upon such consent.

12. Liability
For simple negligence, we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual duties (cardinal duties) and limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. Liability for intent/gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health remains unaffected.

13. Consumer Complaints & ADR (Portugal)
Complaints may be submitted via the Portuguese “Livro de Reclamações” (Complaint Book) — online and on site. We participate in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR); competent bodies include CIAB – Centro de Informação, Mediação e Arbitragem de Consumo. Specific contact points and links are provided on our website.

14. Data Protection (GDPR)
Information on data processing under Art. 12–14 GDPR is available in our Privacy Policy (linked in the website footer). The Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
Portuguese law applies to on-site services and to online services performed in Portugal; mandatory consumer protection laws of the consumer’s place of residence remain unaffected. Place of jurisdiction—where legally permissible—is Lisbon; consumers may also resort to ADR bodies.

16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in force. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced—where legally possible—by a valid provision that most closely reflects the parties’ economic intent. The same applies to contractual gaps. This clause does not apply where upholding the contract would unreasonably burden a party or clearly contradict the parties’ original intent.
